From Kindergartener to Fellow Bay Area Photographer

Before becoming a Child Photographer in the San Francisco Bay Area and even before being a mother, I was a Kindergarten teacher for 6 years.  I adored EVERY MINUTE of it (oh, the stories!!!).  I was young and had no kids of my own at the time so each of those little humans became "mine".  All my classes have now since graduated high school and have gone on to chase their dreams!  Every once in a while I will run into one of them and am shocked they are now adults because my memory has them frozen in time as a toothless 5 year old learning how to read and write.

One of those little cuties was Colby.....He was just the SWEETEST little boy and if you were to meet his family you'd know why!  He was always smiling, happy to be out at playing with his friends at recess and trying his hardest in the classroom.  Colby's Mom, Jamie, often volunteered in my classroom- helping to run centers, correct papers and really do anything to help me out.  His class was the last one I taught before leaving that Summer when I was pregnant with Derek.

So imagine my surprise, when I saw a post from Jamie on Facebook recently announcing Colby's new photography business- Colbair Photography!  What!?!?!?  I immediately went to check it out and was blown away by his talent!  I must say I am one proud Kindergarten teacher!  Real Estate photography is a beast in itself...in comparison to portrait photography there are different rules to shooting a space vs. a person, and the equipment/editing needed is different as well.  You really have to have "the eye for it".... and Colby certainly does! As a seller/agent, the better quality images you use for your listing the more attention they will get on listing sites. Studies have shown that professional real estate photography can increase the number of clicks on a listing by well over 100%
